Knights of Columbus through our volunteerism strive to be true assets to our communities and our nation. Councils sponsor a variety of activities beneifitting communities. Including:
- Knights Night at the Ball Park - This year's event will be on July 13, 2019 starting at 6:35 p.m. at MGM Park in Biloxi. First pitch will be at 6:35 p.m. Knights will sponsor a canned food drive for this game; everyone is requested to bring one canned food item for donation. Our local Saint Vincent dePaul Society will be the recipient of all food collected. The Biloxi Shuckers have agreed to give us half of the money collected in their "Launch-a-ball" promotion, which last year netted us approximately $250 dollars. Tickets will be $8.00 each, with all proceeds going to the state ultra sound fund. Tickets can be obtained from Nick Martino, DD11 or from Brother Bill Haas. If paying by check, please make the checks out to the Knights of Columbus. Questions? Contact Nick Martino, DD #11, dd11@kofc-ms.org, or 228-860-5423.
- Blue Mass - my personal favorite. An opportunity to honor our law enforcement personnel, fire fighters, ambulance attendants and other on whom our lives and the lives of our loved ones might one day depend. I have information on how to set this up and what may be needed which I will be happy to send to any interested council.
- Safe Environment Program - The Knights of Columbus are dedicated to providing a safe environment for children and other vulnerable persons. To this end, many of our members (state officers, program directors, grand knights, etc) are required to undergo Safe Environment Program training. However, any knight may take this training, and I encourage them to do so. The link is on the Supreme web site.
Visit the KofC Supreme web site for more on how Knights are at work in our communities.
